10 Things About LB

  • I am proudly Canadian. I don’t think William Faulkner would have been nearly as successful without the extra U he added to his name after living in Canada.
  • I’m a runner. Murakami said it best: “When I’m running I don’t have to talk to anybody and I don’t have to listen to anybody…This is a part of my day I can’t do without.”
  • I’d rather read the book.
  • I believe in the power of art to change the world. But vaccines for children, education for women, equal rights and microfinancing help, too.
  • I don’t have a firm opinion on the Oxford comma.
  • Dogs. Not cats.
  • The most important quality a person can possess is kindness. The second is the ability to retrieve a lost or deleted Word file.
  • Bacon belongs on a plate, never in a discussion about Shakespeare.
  • I believe that women should know how to do their own taxes, install their own bookshelves, and say no in at least five different languages. After that, they should be able to do whatever the hell they like.
  • Some days, yoga and pinot grigio are all that keep me out of prison.
